Mad Dog Cole in Russia 2009
A short review written by Mad Dog Cole himself.
So, how was it?
Well, after getting into St.Petersburg late on the 12th, we were met at the airport by Ilya and Alex (Sasha). Both great guys, we were transported across the city to our hotel. We then went onto the venue where we were to play Friday night, the Money Honey Club. The venue itself was fairly empty, but that gave us a chance to have a decent look around it. The hall upstairs had a capacity of around 300-400, AND A DISCO BALL!! Rock n Fucking Roll. The night of the actual show was excellent. St. Petersburg Psychos are bloody mental, and the place was packed! The wrecking lasted pretty much the whole set, and on occassions caused the security guys some real agro! The crowd were loud and responsive, and overall a great set of people...even if after the show it was like Beetle-Mania, and I got fucking mobbed for over an hour!

On to Moscow. The XO club is a fairly large venue, and has a great feel to it. The acoustics on stage were awful, but apparently they were great out front. The lighting rig is pretty awesome too. Lev and Kirill are great guys, and we are prepared to deal with them again any time! They were there when we needed something, and not when we didn't. What more could you ask for! The event itself was hot as hell and crazy. The pit was going ballistic most of the time, and again, this caused the security team some issues...... OH WELL! pissing myself laughing. All of our support bands were excellent, and they get a mention in Aprils Podcast.
