Right,first off....we did a 522 mile round trip for this one & shame on you if you if lived within an hour or so's drive away & weren't there. The venue was fairly easy to find & was a really nice club,they had G-man & Klunky DJ'ing, playing some good sounds....up first were A Sailor's Grave who blasted through their usual hard & fast set of Punkabilly, not my thing,but well played just the same, next up were The Whip Crackin' Daddies who played a good set of hard edged, sleazy Rockabilly that warmed the 'crowd' up nicely for those cheeky chaps from the city of culture. Blue Demon... who as usual treated the 'crowd' to a set of fast 'n' furious Psycho Rockabilly,jokes & insults (there was an EMO night in the next room & the good Dr Wagner ripped the piss out of them,safe in the knowledge that they wouldn't retaliate....'cause they're EMOS. anyway,they went down a storm & proved yet again that they are one of THE best bands in Britain at the moment (someone get 'em booked abroad asap).

After a short interlude it was time for the main act....I've ben a fan of M.D.C's since his Krewmen days & was looking forward to this....he delivered the goods imo, he has a fuckin' solid band backin' him (Choppy the half man/half bass monster....Jim 'pretty boy' Jeffries on guitar & Lee beating the fuck out of the drums), he still has 'that' voice & used it to good effect,as well as hurling insults....I thoroughly enjoyed his set,they did most of the stuff of their album plus fuckin' loads of old Krewmen stuff too. the promoter must've been out of pocket though, there were maybe 50 or so there & I doubt very much if it had anything to do with the 'recession' or saving for Speedfreaks 'cause you can guarantee that the D.A.G gig & the Batmobile gig in London in a fortnight will be heaving!, it was well advertised too....I put it down to apathy, anyway...those that were there had a good time,it was good to catch up with Mysteron & a few others too.....we got in at 5.00a.m....we'd both been up for 24 hours, Kerry's sleeping like the dead at the mo....I don't sleep!.
